Vad möter de för utmaningar? 20 februari föreläste RISE-forskarna Derek Diener, Ann-Charlotte Mellquist och Thomas Nyström på Estrad och diskuterade bland annat begrepp som relativ och absolut cirkularitet. Det förstnämnda handlar om att göra mindre skada, medan det sistnämnda går ut på att skapa produkter av material som redan är producerat.

– Vi behöver gå mot den absoluta cirkulariteten. Det handlar inte om att den visionen skulle minska antalet produkter, utan om hur vi kan fånga produkter som finns i omlopp ute i samhället, sa Thomas Nyström.
